Hannah Clancy – third cohort 2006/07 receiving her KCC student award for her outstanding work in systems analysis.  The curriculum content of the unit was supported with the help of the IT Manager at Merseytravel.

After completing a PC maintenance course through Knowsley Community, Hannah progressed to the Foundation Degree in Computing.
After completing an eight week placement at Vertex, she was offered a full time position in project administration.  She now intends to complete her degree on a part time basis.

Kevin Hansen – first FD Cohort 2004/05

After completing a GNVQ and progressing to a BTEC National, Kevin enrolled on our very first Foundation Degree in computing.

During his time at KCC he completed a project for BIC’s Tool Hire, a local medium sized supplier of a variety of equipment.  He also developed a database for a large swimming school.  He commenced a placement with Vertex, developing and delivering SQL training materials.  After successfully graduating last year with a 2:1 classification, he was offered a permanent position at Vertex in their IT Department.

He has recently been seconded to Marks and Spencer and is developing a bespoke IT system.

Since working for Vertex he has won an IT award, "Business Improvement Through Automation" for his work completed by Vertex for The National Trust in April 2007.
