Student Achievement
I am pleased to report that our FD programmes in IT and Business are flourishing and I shall be able to forward more information about student achievement shortly.
Kevin Hansen, who was a student in our first cohort, 2004/05, has recently been honoured with an award from The National Trust. This was for work undertaken by Vertex. Kevin received the award for “Business Improvement Through Automation”.
He developed a business software solution using VB and Excel whilst on secondment at Marks and Spencer.
Hannah joined the FD programme after completing a PC Maintenance course at one of our learning centres. She completed an eight week block placement at Vertex and has subsequently secured a full time position.
Management and Innovation Centre
Tony Blair has now officially opened our very impressive MIC. I am organising a breakfast meeting at the centre in late August or early September. This will allow me the opportunity to disseminate some changes to our current programme. In particular our new Junior Chamber of Commerce and new Business In the Community kite marks and awards.
Employer Ambassadors
Welcome to Peter Marray, Transformers and Mick Beckett Tubedale Communications who are currently working with the college on the new National Diplomas.
Once again, thank you for all your support and thank you all for sponsoring shields, which will now be displayed in our new building. A special thanks to Merseytravel and Paul Oakley who supported me through the very arduous submission for a Power in Partnership Award/
