Frank Gill, Principal at Knowsley Community College, John Korzeniewski (North West Regional Director of the LSC)

Knowsley Community College Scoops Partnership Award
An Award Ceremony was held recently at Knowsley Community College in recognition of the College achieving the LSC and AoC Award for 14 – 19 Collaboration, The College has an excellent track record of working with local schools and a range of organisations in the region.  For the past several years the College has been involved in an innovative programme delivered through the 14 – 19 Knowsley Collegiate.  This partnership was formed to better meet the needs of individual learners by providing more choice and high quality provision.  The Collegiate is made up of key partners across the borough, including schools, the local authority, Connexions, training providers, HE institutions, and employers such as Jaguar Land Rover.  Through working closely with local schools, the College has been able to deliver a broader curriculum offer that complements the GCSE curriculum available in schools.  Pupils attend the College for one day or two half days per week for two years, and have the opportunity to gain recognised qualifications

AAT Olympics

Knowsley College was delighted to host the North West heat for Accounting Technician Skills in the World Skills UK 2008 competition. We are delighted to announce that despite tough competition our students have managed to secure a place in the final. Teams were judged on quality of work, teamwork and professionalism. The finals will be held in London on 20th June and we will publish the results in our employers’ newsletter.

I would like to thank Primary Fluid Power and Volkswagen Liverpool for their continuing support in all our accounting and degree programmes.

Sandra Johnston
Higher Education and Business Development Manager
